Photo of the Day:
(Look at the mischievous egg thrower.)
About a week ago, Madison and Daddy were playing Uno. Madison loves the card game and gets really into it. So does Daddy. Remember when you were a kid, waiting for that second to yell "UNO" before the other person did? Well, no exceptions in this household.
I was on the computer when suddenly I hear Madison yell, "UNO". I glanced over and Jeff was laughing hysterically. Apparently Madison had coerced her stuffed animal (Mickey Mouse) to take a gamble and play a hand of cards with the two of them. And, as luck would have it, who yelled "UNO" on Mickey? Poor guy. He was banished with two extra cards as Madison grinned, and then won the game.
I got a good laugh that night. Although not as good as the next day.
We were walking into dinner (we eat at the University's cafeteria to save a few bucks here and there), and Madison suddenly announced that we should "Watch Out".
Surprised, and wondering if I was about to walk under a ladder or slip on a banana peel, I asked "Watch out for what?"
Madison matter-of-factly exclaimed, "My friend!"
I looked around. Perplexed I asked,"What friend?"
"My friend, the mouse!" She motioned behind her then continued doing what she was doing. Which was casually watching a conversation between two college girls with their pants hanging so low their butter crackers were hanging out. Suddenly swirling thoughts of my leaky faucet left me kicking myself for not calling the plumber before I left the house.
"What's the mouse's name?" I snickered to myself at the creative mind of a 3-year-old.
She looked at the invisible mouse, thought for a minute, and stated, "Mickey Mouse."
Well of course. Who else would she be hanging out with? I mean, I'd have said "Mickey" too. It's not like he'd speak up in protest...and heck, she knew that from the prior night's game.
So, if you pass her on the street. Ask her to introduce you. I wonder how long we'll be having this little house guest? And on that note, I wonder if he can cook like Remmy?
